There is a pet store close to me that has gold nugget plecos in, asking 40 for them... is it worth it? The only other thing i am concerned with is that many of their tanks have dead fish, but all plecos seem good (they also have rubber nose and common plecos). Do you think they could carry what is killing the others even though it is not killing them? Obviously I would acclimate them and then move just them with a net and not transfer and fish store water. What do you guys think?

I don't buy fish from a tank with dead/sick fish, no matter how healthy they seem to be.
About the price, those are normally expensive fishies.
a aparently healthy fish can carry the disease and infect/kill weaker tankmates. that's why it's always importat to have a quarantine tank and keep your new fish at least for waeeks in isolation. This allow them to get used to the new water paramater he will be living, and also will give a time span for any possible diesease to show up.
