Pleco stock question

I would only want 1 of each species (genus?) so I am hopeful for minimal agression. I have seen pics of a pleco tank with multiple species but am not sure of the specs. I really appreciate and need the input. I really am finding a soft spot for plecos and the more I can have living in harmony the better....:grinyes:

oh boy.

I tend to agree with wataugachicken lol
I have to ...
I have 11 in a 45 gl breeder tanks planted .
I added mine all together and no problems .
but more small cleaning (i hate poop)
in the food area and around the edges of the tank .
Im gonna have to get another tank cause i want zebra's lol

Thanks for the advice. I obviously have to wait for a big tank, but I definitely think once I get one I will have a nice pleco colony (diff. species of course!) I know what you mean about poop! My tanks are all sand and the pooh is very visible. Drives me crazy!

in part it comes down to fish temperament. I have an albino BN and a clown in my 15, which I'm sure most here would advise against. But they're been together for about 4 months now and I've yet to have an issue. I see them sitting next to each other all the time, don't seem to care that the other one exists. It might help that the clown doesn't seem interested in the algae wafers / cucumber that I feed the BN, and there's plenty of drift wood in there.

as has already been said, go ahead and try it out and see what happens. but be ready to remove any that aren't getting along :D

and i know what you mean in terms of falling in love with these fish. i don't know why i'm obsessed with them. every since I got my little gibby. I was heart broken when I had to bring him back (getting too big, got him before I had much experience in this hobby and didn't do the research). But my ABN and clown are amusing little guys

Ya know you could have 6-7 L010a. These plecos grow no more than 4 inches and are too passive. Heck, if the filtration is massive, you could keep more than that. They tend to be lazy though.:D
