I would go Central American Cichlids with the following:
Amphilophus trimaculatus
'Cichlasoma' grammodes
Herichthys bocourti
Nandopsis haitiensis
Parachromis motaguense 'red tiger'
And maybe some of those real nice wild convicts or Honduran red points
:huh:those are nice, but they dont really match the environment i have in the tank.
which is exactly what i suggested in the first place. :huh:Thanks everyone. ill look into the CA/SA cichlids
if those fish i suggested are not colorful, then i don't know what is. :huh:are there any colorful fish that i could put in with the pleco?
really? boy, all those cichlids living in Central American are going to be very surprised to find that the water they've been living in for perhaps thousands of years is hard and alkaline. :huh:i would only go with New World cichlids because of the similar water requirements (soft acidic water is ideal)
. thanks. nice to find somebody who knows something about new world cichlids.more inland SA species come from soft/acidic to neutral waters
When those grow a bit bigger I'd think they'd punk the plecs around..but 720g is alot of space so who knows
check out liv2padl's post...i would go with the geos, some angels, some sevs and then a couple of festivum.are there any colorful fish that i could put in with the pleco?
