Plecos and Ich...Is There Hope?

Plecos are freshwater not brackish.

That's precisely why salt is effective in killing many freshwater parasites. Plecos are probably more salt-sensitive, but should be able to handle a 1% - 3% solution. Determining how much salt was used and how quickly it was added to the pleco tank may be helpful for future reference.

Well, there's been a slightly odd new development. Henrietta still looks horrible, and the spots have worsened and most of her fins are tattered now, but she can swim normally again. A few days ago, she couldn't keep herself upright or swimming straight, but now she's swimming almost normally. I don't want to be hopeful, because she really looks aweful, but I think I'll make a new thread with an appropriate title to account for the recent developments, as this is no longer a pleco issue. I'd really love some advice. I have no clue what to make of this, or what to do!
