ive had a 55 with 14 bleeding heart tetra for about 2 months, and its time for more fish now.
im eventually going to get a severum, but i wanted to get him last.
i was going to get a bunch of cory cats, but i have some in a smaller tank and i really wanted to get some plecos.
i was looking at liveaquaria and was wondering if i could get more than one kind...i havent had too much experience with plecos...
the thomasi pleco really caught my eye
and so did the bushy nose plecos
it says the thomasi gets to about 6 inches and the bushy nose gets about 4.5 inches..are these correct? and if so, could i have 2 bushy nose and 1 thomasi?

one more question...is there any reason i can't have cory cats and otos in the same tank?

thank you!

Isn't a 55g too small for a severum?

If you're getting cories, peppered and panda are nice.

Bushy/bristlenose plecos are very common. Males get about 4.5-5", and females around 4", if I'm correct. I'm not sure about the other kind.

I would stick with 2 bushynoses, plecos produce a lot of waste compared to their size.

There isn't any reason you can't keep cories with otos. Otos eat algae and the only threat they ever pose is sucking the mucus of a flat (Discus, gourami, etc) fish, and that's pretty uncommon. Cories eat leftover food and decaying matter, and couldn't hurt something if they tried.

IMO, you should either get 1-2 bushynose plecos or 3-5 otos, considering the algae they would fight over. I prefer otos, myself, because they seem to take care of algae instantly, stay tiny (1.5-2"), and are cute (they also sometimes group up, from what I hear. I've only ever had 1). Bushynose are a little too messy for me.

they're not all going in the same tank.
i wanted to do plecos in the 55...and ive been told a sev would be okay in a 55, but if its not let me know! i wouldnt mind going with another school of larger tetras if i cant get a sev..

i have 3 cories in a 10 with a betta right now and its in direct sun since thats the only place we can put it for now. ive heard otos are amazing at getting rid of algae and they stay really small, which would be perfect!
would 3 be ok with the betta and 3 cories?
