IMO saying that plecos do not swim as much as other fish can be completely untrue. I have seen plecos that are very active. Not always when the lights are on, but many do enjoy their space. Also assuming a large fish is ok in a small tank because it is relatively less active is a mistake. Many factors including bio load, aggressiveness, and even the fishes ability to move freely in a tank can have an effect on what the proper sized tank should be.
