Plecos

I used frozen peas. Can't remember who told me that...anyway, just take a few and thaw them in your hands. Pop them out of their skin and plop them in the tank. The do sink. My fish went crazy over them.

my plecos and otos LOVE spinich, zuchini, cucumber. one of them likes melon, but none of the others do (betta likes the melon too) but I don't always recommend fruit.

my pl*co (8") loves zuccini (yellow squash) and green zuccini and cucumbers. also he will eat right out of my hand. It's cool, if i stick my hand in there and don't have any vegetables, he'll come suck on my fingers. very trusting. One of my favorite fish.

Zucchini and cucumber *are* fruits :) Melons are just a softer type.

Sometimes it takes them a few days to figure out that what you are putting in there is food. Try light *blanching them in water loaded with garlic. Garlic will stimulate the appetite and it's good for them.

Roan

* boil water and garlic in the microwave, add zucchini or whatever and nuke for 5-45 seconds, depending on the softness of veggie before you start. Don't make it too soft, just enough so that it's easier to eat and the garlic gets into it.

I never would have thought I could use garlic! My two plecos inhaled a chunk of zuchini last night. I loved watching them. It took them a day to figure out what it was. I think my clown loaches liked it too, but one of the plecos didn't want to share.
