Hi guys , My last question for today is this .....
I read about the plecostomus catfish, and all books say that this fish is a good algae eater .

I wish to buy a fish to control the algae in my tank, but I don't want to experiance another problem that I had with the Chinese Algae eater, cause he ate all my live Plants too.

Do the Plecostomus eat Algae only and not live plants , and does he do well in a community tank ?

Thanks :)

Avoid common plecos in a planted tank. Instead, opt for Bristlenose, Otos, and Siamese algae eaters.

You mean your cae didn't attack your other fish too? Wierd....

There are a few plecos that eat algae only, yes... but others are herbivorous and will eat your plants, and still others are piscivorous and will attack your fish when they get older... best to do a bit of research before you buy. Bristlenose are a good algae-only fish, as are SAE's...
