I decided to seal my hagen CO2 canister with plumbers tape and it has helped my CO2 output. I was just wondering if anyone uses this and had the same benefits. I'd assume that plumbers tape can help seal any DIY CO2 conntection. If your having connection leaks give it a try, maybe it will help!

I haven't been on these forums a long time, not sure if this has been mentioned in the past... I would advise against using teflon tape on a compressed gas system before the outflow on the needle valve. Little pieces of tape can flake off and clog the small opening in the needle valve... much better to prevent leaks is this ceramic goo called plumbers dope for comrpessed systems...

The Hagen system he's talking about doesn't use a needle valve. It's the same as a DIY yeast method CO2 system. He's just using the tape to seal the lid to the container (I'm assuming...since that's the only threaded area).
Personally, I don't have any problems with my containers leaking, but I twist mine on as tight as I can get it (which is pretty tight!), and I often struggle to get it back off for changes

Yeah the tape is for the canister threads, it would only work for systems with some type of screw cap. I've tried to tighten it as tight as possible, but the tape helps insure the seal. I'd be interested if you tried it Sumpin'. Maybe it will give you more output.
If I can remember, I'll try if for ya next weekend at my next water change! I don't expect any results, but I'd rather try it and be proved wrong than be right. That will mean more CO2!!!
