PMMD mixture (Mgamer20o0)

I don't keep my pmdd mix refrigerated, but I do shake it before use. If you are using it relatively fast I wouldn't worry about it.

Glad you got it figured out, with that dense of a mixture it would come out like bouillon cubes lol

did you put the water inw ith all the ferts in the bottle?

lol yea. What I ended up doing is buying another 1gal of distilled water. Poured half in one and poured half in the other. It looks a lot better than before, a slight green hue. I should have gone over the instructions before I opened it up.

If you use hot water, the mix will dissolve very easily.
Trick no#2 potassium sorbate, maybe a pill or so.....anti fungal agent commonly used in foods.
Trick #3 Use Excel in place of for anti fungal: add say 10-20 mls to replace 10-20 mls of water to the solution.

4. Keep some PO4 handy.

might be a good idea to take some old bottles (seachem for example) and fill them up with your mix and sell them in a few marketplaces. market them as pmdd - a one bottle replacement for seachem flourish, iron, nitrogen, potassium and trace. sell it at cost and start over from scratch. saves you from having to stress over battling fungus build up in your bottles. just put a note on the sales thread that the bottles should be refrigerated once delivered.

2-4..Why is that Tom? For the mixture? To keep algae away?

Nice Idea Thanks Dun...Not looking to make any money but Hate for it to go to waste.

Try explaining to the kids..HEY kids there are 2 jugs that might appear to look like Apple juice in the Fridge, it is not..To not drink it. "What is it Dad?" Ferts for my Tank.

LESSON LEARNED !!!!!

The steps no longer require you to refrig stanky skanky fish stuff where your human food is kept. Not a popular thing to do in many households. Prevents fungi without refrigerating.

PO4, use dry and do not mix with anything containing Traces.....they will precipitate out of a solution.

Another method to prevent mold is add about 5 mls per 1 liter of HCL, the pool acid stuff. You might find it in 16 oz bottles, 23% muriatic acid. Add this first **to the water**, shake, then add ferts.

am i wrong in my thinking that it's only the Fe that precips with PO4? i mean, i know it's already in plantex. still curious as to your answer, though.

Thanks Tom...Maybe you can answer this since noone on the other site did.

Is there anything else I really need add? I am using the PMMD and Mgamer root tabs, should I be supplimenting anything else.
