Point me in the rite direction

Are the live ph and amonia tests any good? im about to go to the pet shop just wondering.

I had the Mardel live ammonia it became garbage it worked for the first 3 days then it went vile green like my water was toxic however I was checking my tank water at the same time so it was wrong, I then dropped it in a cup with tap water which has NO ammonia and it went an even darker color..
So I wouldnt' recommend the Mardel Ammonia one..unless you are using it in conjuction with daily liquid tests such as API ammonia (not the cheap one bottle one the two bottle one)

Mardels do NOT work, we have several and they never read right.
We also have Seachems (little round ones) and they work fast and are accurate most of the time, for us anyway.
They're not what you want to test your water with though, they're just a good general indicator to tell you if something is wrong with an already cycled tank.
If your tank is cycling you need to test every single day with a liquid test kit. They're good to have around anyway, because if the little indicator in your tank says the ammonia is high you're going to have to test with the liquid test kit and make sure if it's reading right.
