poisoning or brain damage in fish?

To bortsamson, it was one of the fake rockworks. I'll definetly be more careful next time. The only reason I've been shopping at PetSmart instead of the LFS is because the LFS has really gone downhill lately. I've never seen so many dead fish in one place. I know it's hard to imagine, but PetSmart has the LFS beat by a long shot.

To Traci, I have to clarify. I put Austin in my profile because I'm moving there in July. It saves me the trouble of having to change it later. I'm in Baton Rouge right now, and we have had a couple of 90 degree days. Even with the heater unplugged, the temp hasn't dropped below 81F.

Thankfully, the water change seems to have cleared everything up. Lesson definetly learned.

Oh, well, that does make a difference then. We actually did hit 90 yesterday, and while Austin is certainly not dry heat, it sure ISN'T Baton Rouge sticky, sweaty, nasty hot.

Well, at least not for another month it isn't!

;)

Just for the record, when my fish were poisoned it appeared to be from a combination of ich medacine (Victoria green) and a piece of micabearing rock. The total casualties were three pictus cats, two goldfish, a neon and a minnow of unknown sp. The minnow and one of the goldfish lept out of the tank, all the rest of the fish were dead in the water. I believe that the poisoning resulted from metal oxides leeching out of the rock.
