My first attempt at making a snail. I think there's a few things I'd do differently in both sculpting and painting next time around, but this was fun. :)

It's made from polymer clay with acrylic paint and gloss varnish, and is about the size of a large full-grown brig.

Seriously though- that is really fantastic work- that polymer clay doesn't seem to be the easiest stuff to work with... (at least for someone untalented like myself that is).

Lol, I'm not moving to Asheville. The weather gets too crazy there in the winter. Besides, sculptors are supposed to move to Seagrove (I'm not goin' there either).

The clay isn't bad to work with once you get used to it, and get plenty of tools. I've got a little woodcarving set that's great for it.
