I would like to set up an aquarium in my classroom for pond invertebrates. Any suggestions would help.

You should do a search for paludarium. I've never had a set up like this so I really don't know the specifics. I'm sure someone here will be able to help.

Are you looking to set up a long-term community or a more natural representation of what you would expect to find in a pond? Are you planning to collect your own specimens?
