im going through all my options for a filter and most say that for a large aquarium (220g) a wetdry is the best.
but i had an idea, what about pond filters? they filter huge amounts of water.
has anyone tried this? is it even possible?

sounds like an absolute mess, pond filters are ment to drive a sprinker head or a waterfall, I would not put one in my tanks, they are big and blocky too

well i thought i can hook it up to a spray bar somehow lol

Thats possible, but the base of the unit would have to be in the tank somplace and It's huge on it's own ( the ones I've seen in this purpose anyways ) It may work, if I had a big tank to try it I would possibly

well i found some canister filters for ponds that are meant to be outside the pond not in, the only thing that will be in the tank is a small submersible pump.
but something must be wrong with this idea other wise i think it would be popular lol

lol thats what i was afraid of
3 filters to clean ouch!
