I have 5 puffers who love pond snails and 1 ghost shrimp that seems to like them too!! I keep them seperate from the main tank so they have time to lay eggs and then fish them out and feed. but if you have plants then you could put them together.

I breed pond snails in a 10 gallon for my green spotted puffer to eat.

It's really up to you...

If you want to completely get rid of them bait them with vegetables. Don't add fish, especially if you do not want the fish.

If you just want to lower the population cut back on feeding.

If you like them, keep them. I have never seen them to any harm to plants. They should only be eating dead or decaying plant matter anyways.

I personally liked them but had too many. I tried a combination of the first two and it worked well. My cichlids also helped

I have pond snails in a 20g and along with cherry shrimp. They are all breeders to feed my Figure 8 puffer that is in a different tank. I'm sure if I had them together, my puffer would gorge until he explodes!
