Pool filter for aquarium???

I had a similar question some time ago and here is the thread, hopefully it helps.

my biggest turn off would be the strong current (smallest I found is rated at 530gph)and noise (I remember that thing being pretty loud). but if you reduced the flow like jaysen mentioned and had your tanks in a basement or run the filter when you are not home it would clean your water up real fast.

Remember, you're in the process of doing a fishy cycle... "over filtration" will not replace the need to do daily water changes. How are you doing your water changes? (details please)
Well I siphon the water out with the gravel cleaner and also clean the gravel. I have been doing 30% water changes. Today I tested and found out that the water had 1.0 ammonia in it so I Immediately put ammo lock in it and tomorrow I am doing a 50% water change. Anyway, After the waters out I slowly put water back in( I try to temp match). I treat the water with prime even though I have well water which is very clean. (my house was built last year so the well is brand new).
