pool vs pleco?

They make the big plastic "kiddie" pools that are real cheap....But problem would be trying to find one this time of year. They are fairly common right before summer at most retail type stores (Walmart,Target,Kmart ect.). You might could goto a few of these stores and see if they have any put back in the stock rooms that were leftover from the summer....they would probably be willing to sell one if they do.

I agree, but I dont think the pleco would pop the pool, their pretty tough. Ive never seen my pleco swish around enough to be able to pop a pool. How big is the spot your putting pool/tub?

Maybe you could get a piece of free or cheap pond liner from craigslist or freecycle to line the inside if you're still worried about the pleco damaging it.

That makes a lot of sence :]
you could just get some big rocks and push the rocks up against the sides on the ground, not sure how you would keep it up though around the top of the pool without having a frame around it

haha na nothing that big, it would have to be outside then. This is just gonna go where a regular tank would go, living room :dance2: Better in there than the 55 being cramped I say. I ordered and figured id give it a shot. Just gives me more time to save for a even bigger tank. Maybe something like 96x36x*:goldfish:

there it is. Hopefully 4-6 weeks they can be switched. They should grow that much in the time period! 52x52x24" ID. Fill itup to around 17/18"

Some of your fish, particularly the pleco, are jumpers. If you can border that with something to repel leaping fish, you might want to give it a shot. Taping cardboard boxes in a "fence" around it would work.

That's actually really cool. A pool of fish in the house.
Good luck with it

Pleco a jumper?!! I was more worried about the tinfoils and balas. When its all said and done Im gonna make a hinged screen top then space above it 6" or so the lights (Waterproof led). It looks good in my mind anyway, kinda like a table with a pool of fish under it haha.

Any ideas how to get the circulation going? I was thinkin round and round, but then stuff would gather in the middle. I was shooting for 1500-2000gph atleast. Im looking for flow, but not river speed as I dont want the fantails to be doing cardio 24/7
