It sounds like you're taking excellent care of the situation though. My fish only lived for another hour or so; it was definitely much worse than yours. Good luck with the recovery. I'm sure you learned a lesson as did I when it happened to me.

Pimafix & Bettafix are the diluted version.

Pimafix is not a diluted version of melafix it is an entirely diffrent medication.
Melafix = Melaleuca alternifolia
Pimafix= pimenta racemosa

The Melafix does seem to be helping...the syringe damage is healed, which surprises me because I most definitely took a big chunk out of the tail!

This betta also happens to be a verified tail biter (witnessed it myself), and the Melafix has increased the healing on the tail edges he chewed. I may continue another few days just to see how that goes!
