It is the new email service from Google that doesn't actually exist right now. Do a search on google for Gmail and all will be revealed.

Uh, it does exist and I've been getting mail on my gmail account.

It's in beta now. The only way to get in is to get an invite from someone else.

Yes, I am aware that it is in beta. But that really isn't the same as up and running. Paying money for a beta product is silly. I understand all the cool geeks out there are drooling for a gmail account but paying for a email account that will be free when it comes out isn't my cup of tea.
