Of course, being too curious for my own good and worried also yesterday one of my loaches was NOT happy with me. I finished up my water changes with my strange readings and of course just that worries me. Then, of all things I see a loach hanging off the back of my heater on one of the sucker things. So I look... hmmm doesn't seem to be breathing... hmmmm.... so I poke.... hmmm not much of a reaction there either but he's not dead.. hmmmm. poke again so he's finally had enough and swims down to the bottom. I guess he was happily snoozing there before I came along and interupted his nap. I swear he DID look dead! Aww well I think he's forgiven me today *smile*.

it's the same reason we poke the cat and wake it from a perfectly blissful nap... it hasn't moved in forever >.>

Heh, I just poked one of my kuhlies that was doing the exact same thing. He just moved from the top suction cup thingy to the one below and went back to perfect motionlessness. Normally my loaches weird behavior doesn't phase me, but it didn't look like he had moved at all for 4 days.

Heh. I've had 2 of my danios get into the filter recently (one survived) so I'm a little paranoid. This morning before leaving for work, i'm checking the tank (the lights don't come on til 2) and I can't find the red GloFish. Uh oh. So I check the filter, no fish. Now I'm kind of worried so I turned the light on... and out comes the groggy little red danio from where he had been sleeping under a plant. LOL Fish is probably thinking WTF why are the lights on it's the middle of the night?!

that's when you tell it "nothing, honey; go back to sleep" :D

lol, I do that to my crayfish. I'll see one in the morning and come home at night and it looks to be in the same spot, awfully still. Then I'll poke it and it wakes up all pissed and tries to pinch me. ...these critters of ours should no better than to make us worry, otherwise they're just going to get bothered/poked/disturbed by us lol

Loaches are notorius for giveing their owners heart attacks, especially botia. I have a yoyo that sleeps literally upside down under her drift wood.
