Population control...

Then with neons, they may be carnivorous but they'll never fit the fry in their mouths well enough compared to other tetras.:grinyes:

Been there, done that. IME any fish that will eat fry will (sooner or later) eat the parents too (unless kept in a separate tank.) ...Ornate bicher intended for convict population control ate the adult female...
Then, I ended up returning a trio of sailfin mollies to the lfs because too many fry were surviving. They were originally intended to help cycle a new tank (used filter media from an established setup) then provide live food for the Tanganykian spiney eel that the tank was set up to house. As I eventually learned, the spiney eel was an egg-eater, but completely ignored fry regardless of size/age. The trio was moved to a 55, but the fish there didn't make much of a dent in the population either.:wall:
Life is what happens while you're making other plans... :grinyes:

yep..left live bearers a long time ago...

Angelfish may be able to help, however they'll probs make a meal outta the neons when you're not looking. Female bettas go crazy over guppy fry, alot more then what the males do, so I've found.
Though, you should just get rid of them all completely by the sounds of it. How many adult females you have anyways?
If you decide to get rid of most and keep only one sex, females and males are pretty close in colouration, but the females live longer apparently.
