I have no problems with anyone that wants to eat dog or cat, not my cup of tea but it would help keep the stray population down.

Yeah I don't like how we give some animals more value just because we can communicate with them better. Something I've noticed is the ability to express emotion implies intelligence to us... and just because an animal can't express feelings doesn't mean it doesn't have feelings. If you're going to eat animals, don't discriminate.
