Possibilties for my nano

I'm also vegan so yea . . . it's a whole different topic on what I won't do, put in certain sized tanks.

What does you being vegan have to do with anything? For one its off topic, and the only thing it means is that you have to take dietary suppliments to get the proteins you need, and you wont be getting the omega fatty acids you need. Your comment made it seem like you think that you are somehow "better" that all of us because you are vegan. Well guess what I raise cattle, chickens, turkeys and hogs for people to EAT!!!

Uhh...she did say it's a whole different topic and didn't keep going. You're far more off topic.

here is my plan

10 gallon tank

live rock, 20 lbs

live sand 15 lbs

2 flourescent lamps

reef water conditions with moderate current

2 (mated pair) amblyeleotris wheeleri

2 algae snails

1 brittle star

alpheus randalli (how many of these can i have?

I was also considering synchiropus picturatus or splendens. Would one of these be possible instead of the amblyeleotris wheeleri?

Lets please keep this thread on the quoted topic, thanks...

Are there any snails that are better than others? Im not real sure which marine snails will work best

RWS, go to the marine article index, and look for my write up titled " Marine Common Questions" and i have a little ditty on each type of snail...all serve slightly different purposes...

This thread has been reported twice in a short period.

A SW Mod has asked once to stay on topic.

Please do so so the informative type posting can help us all. Let the other stuff go to PMs or just ignore it.

Thanks.

Thanks Nikko.

Personally I like Certith and Nassarius snails. Nas snails because they are a good detrius eaters.. In fact I don't even see my Tonga Nas's anymore unless I go substrate digging. They just work their magic, and ceriths because they are a good overall snail. They eat lots of stuff and aren't just a sandbed snail. They are on my rocks, glass, sand.. Pretty much everywhere and are reproducing exponentially in my tank. (I'm seeing a second batch of babies now)..

I also like Turbo's but don't know if i'd have one in a nano. They are kind of a bull in a china shop but in my 75 they do a great job.

I'll vouch for Astrea snails in a nano. I also think Cerith and Nassarius snails would be nice but don't have any personal experience with them.

Thank you all for the great advice, i will probably go with the cerith snails.

i am also keeping a 10g nano. i only chose one fish. a false percula clown as i think corals will be too troublesome.and a pincushion sea urchin.
right now im thinking of adding a cleaning crew. not sure yet but do orange yellow gobies help clean?
and i dont recommend the firefish unless you have a hood. they tend to jump out.:)
