Possible case of ich in planted tank with shrimps

Hello Everyone!

I'm noticing white spots on the head of my galaxy rasboras, and I'm assuming this is a case of ich. Some of them also have clamped fins.

It's a planted tank with amano shrimp in it as well.

The temp oscillates between 26-27°c. Water paramaters are pretty stable with low ph, and low amonia.

My concern is how do i treat them with plants and shrimp in the same tank?

Thanks.

Ammonia should always be 0, not 'low' but that might be semantics. Is the tank unheated? It's already pretty high for the galaxy's and shrimp. I've used a product called Herbtana in those conditions, worked fine.

Tell us more about the tank and inhabitants.

Is anything new or has changed?

Do you have a separate tank to move the shrimp to? What plants?

Agreed, but the reading was one day before the water change. It should be at zero today?

The tank is a 60L, subratete is amazonia light. I have midlevel care plants with driftwood in to condition the water. The inhabitants are nerite sales, ottocinclis, cardinal tetras, glaxy rasboras, amano shrimp and psudomugil bule eyes.

No sudden change, just started noticing that some of the rasboras had clamped fins, and a whitish coat on top, while others had white spots. Now there is psudomugil with white spots on its head.

Unfortunately no, i went to my local gish store, he suggested to test api super ich in limited amounts since it has tea tree extract as the active ingredient. I added it last night and did a water chsnge today to be safe. So far no adverse reaction.

Hhmmm. Uh, you could try a seperate container for the inverts. That wouldnt work long term tho. Heat seems like the best option. It might be harsh on the rasboras but that's your best option. Id turn up the temp to 87 and keep it there for TWO weeks. Dont turn it down ever. That's your best option.

Something isn't right, or he lied cause he had nothing else to sell but API super ich = malachite green which absolutely isn't safe for shrimp, snails and plants... nor does it claim to be.
How many fish are in the tank? There should never be ammonia 'before a water change'...

Pic of the white spots you suspect are ich? Might not even be ich.....

When were the fish added and have you added anything new lately? Last 2 weeks?

Best to try and diagnose a probable issue before treating with meds. The wrong ones can cause more damage.
