Possible to rehome on a long move?

I was thinking the same thing. I figured it would be like $60. They probably just have a warehouse account open through UPS and get a discount.

I'm still thinking hard about this. To ship or to transport. Right now I would only save roughly $60 = /

Sooooo. I bought a really tall roller cooler, should fit perfect in the back seat floor, for $35. Then I bought a 10# bag of live sand. Then I remembered, hey, I have that Hydor Nano Slim Skim already that wouldn't fit in my 14g bio cube. So now I'm using that instead of an air box. The skimmer fits in the cooler perfectly. I also had one of those inside tank fluval pumps a company sent me by mistake, so I'm using that to start up the cycle and clear out the livesand gunk and w/e else. Next I'm going to order the house wall plug AC/DC car traveling box thingy. I think that was $25 shipped. Soo, $75 total!

The things we do for our tanks :). Good luck with the move!

I'm kind of debating if the live sand was a good or bad idea. I forgot how much success people have with bare bottom tanks. I guess it might be good because the shrimp / gobies might feel more at home with sand. Thoughts?

I'm giggling to myself because this "travel tank" is more superior to some other set ups I've seen, lol.

I was thinking along the same lines but 5 days is a while :). I always laugh at the women that carry along their miniature dogs in $500 purses but this might have them beat :). I think the sand would be good for the livestock you are carrying.

Just an update, we moved out the 17th. The Sunday before I found the tank a good home. The county commisioner was actually a SW enthusiast. Him and his wife were keeping a small 5 gallon pico. I sold it for a tiny amount of $160, rofl. The important thing is I found the tank a good home with a family that will take care and enjoy everything.

I came home to my 30 gallon set up that my father was taking care of, HOLY! He did a great job, all the coral is huge!
