possibly stupid algae question.....

Hehe...sure but get the sweet baby gerkins:D

He'll sniff them out but I'd just drop it down near where he hangs out the most. Some people use anchor weights to weigh it down. Some tie the slices to rocks or use rubberbands. Whatever works best for you...but remove whatever remains uneaten by morning before it fouls up the tank.

He may not show much of an appetite until he becomes fully settled in the tank, which may take a couple of weeks. Zuchinni works best, IME. Just leave it in there for 24 hours or so at a time, just a slice. He may not eat it at first, but he'll eventually get the idea. And if you go without feeding him for a few days, and then try feeding him, his hunger will get the best of him.

As to the algea, I'd pick up a couple of Otos. I only had algea when I first started my tank, and now I have none that I can see.

Thanks guys and gals! I got some algae wafers tonight so I'll see if he likes em', I thought they were pretty tasty anyway.

I am prepared to wait til' he settles in though. I believe that is a very valid point.

I'll look into the otos.
