Sorry Jaysen. I officially came to my senses and backed the heck away after that.

These ants were all over our hotel in Cairns.

That ant is very odd looking, inka! The butterfly is very pretty though. Jaysen, I love the pic of the little spider you took (jumping spider?) that was on your carpet! You can see two eyes on its face and (I think) it's making quite the facial expression!

i hope to see a praying mantis!

I will have to keep an eye open, but we have had 2 praying mantis living around our back deck all summer long. First noticed them when they were about an inch long, and the last time I saw one it was at least around 5" long.

Not seen them catch any of the hummingbirds though!
