When you click on the "manage attachments" button, then "browse", then "upload" how long should it take to upload? What kind(.bmp, .jpg ...) and size should I make it to optimize quality/vs. detail? The other day I tried a couple of times to post an image and left it for at least 15 min. The message said downloading - but nothing seemed to be happening. Suggestions please?

Sounds like you are trying to upload the original picture from the camera which could be 2 megs for a picture.
You should use a photo editing program and crop your picture to the subject you want. Reduce the size of the picture. Maybe the largest setting of 550 pixels. Then Save As a new named jpg file so you do not alter your original picture. I try to keep picture around 55K. This will give you nice detail with out killing dial up people.

Here goes. I'll try to post a piece of art I've done . . . THANK YOU! elgecko I really appreciate the help. It really didn't take any time at all once you told me what size was acceptable. Again - thanks. :D

Glad I could help.
Nice looking picture.
Is that paints or what? Is flowers what you normally do?

Thanks, it actually started out as a prismacolor pencil drawing then I finished it in AdobePhotoshop7. I draw a lot of flowers and sometimes fish. Right now I'm actually working on a mermaid and a coral reef that will end up being an acrylic painting for my friend's bathroom. I also blackline a comic - if you'd like to see our first one it's online at www.majorvictory.com.
