Thought I'd make a poll about this. I had a thought today that maybe everyone would be interested in an article about Graduate school, research, and science. It would be mostly general interest, to give everyone an idea of how life is for working scientists. There would also be some specific info about grad school and how to apply, get funding, etc. Because I know there are quite a few people on AC who either want to go to school for science, or are currently undergrads studying science who might want to go on to grad school for it.
Of course, most of it would be biased toward my experiences (because that's what I know best), but I will also make an attempt to keep it general where appropriate.
Some of the topics covered would be: Life as a Graduate Student, How to Prepare/Apply, The Scientific Method and "Doing Science", The Sociology of Science, and Why do Scientists Lack Common Sense?
I've thought about this last one a lot, and have seen it happen to me.
Whaddya think? Any suggestions are also welcome
If you voted no, a reason why would interest me, if you're willing to share.
