So here's the scoop, I went to the lfs saturday bought what that knowit all there said were "cobalt blue cichlids" and I quote. I find powder blue cichlid scientific name Pseudotropheus socolofi and another with photo that looks almost identical that they call cobalt blue cichlid sceintific name Metriaclima callainos. Is the site I looked at wrong or are these two fish really that close in coloration and markings? if so how does anybody tell them apart? Both look like my fish.
