hey now,

well i just purchased a 5.5 gallon with a glass top and a 16inch incandescent hood. I have a coralife 50/50 mini compact bulb in there giving me 20 watts...and a 50 watt visi-therm heater

I need to think of a power filter to use. Will a penguin 125 be overkill? should I just go with a mini?

how about a powerhead? Do I need one for a 5.5 gallon...and if so what size and brand do you suggest?

thanks!

take care,
jared

If you have a power filter, you shouldn't need a powerhead. But, I would skip the filter, add a few more pounds of live rock, and go with a small power head. I have an AC 201 in my 10--not huge, provides decent movement for half the tank (the other half of the tank gets movement from the returns from the sump).
