I would go with the AC50. Plenty of room for whatever kind of media you want to use. The sponges will last just about forever. Saves you money on replacing proprietary cartridges. Just rinse and reuse until they fall apart. The filter itself should last for years. I have some ACs that are over ten years old and going strong.
I get anywhere from 2-3 months per cartridge, replacing them when they look tatherd. I use 4 in the P-350 and 2 in the P-200. about 8 dollars every 3 months, is that alot ?

nope as long as your fish aren't being slammed into things because of the flow there's no problem
