Is it better to cycle with them on??

And if so, at what level?

I seen this answered in a previous thread, but I cant find it.

I have my intake in the left of the tank, down low.... and the output flow at the top facing the front...

SHould I place the powerhead on the side panel? Or on the back panel underneath the outputs, facing the front...? ANd should it be Hi,Middle, or Low?

thanks.

I always cycle with everything as it will be when I put the fish in. The powerheads usually are on the sides of the tank unless its incredibly large. They also help keep the fish to the middle of the tank because most of them don't like to be in the current. They usally face towards the front so the powerheads don't block the view of the tank.

Put them in the back corners of your tank with the jets facing the front and you will be fine.

Its important to keep the hose to the powerhead in the powerhead. It needs air to run. In some of them, the hose is easily knocked out. I would get everything setup right before you add your fish.

I have cycle fish in already...

So I'll put it on the back of the tank.

what level should they be at in the tank?

They usually go at the top but you have to read the directions that came with your powerhead. Some can be totally submersed but some can only be partially. They go in the top few inches of water usally. The output of water should be just below the water line.
