Powerhead Placement

I have two Hydor 1's and they blow everything (my GSP) around like crazy. I want them to make a nice even flow. My tank is 20G and currently one is located the left and one is located to the right on the side walls, upper top. Is there anywhere else I should put them to make that nice even flow?

I have mine sort of set up like that but the flow collides just before hitting the front glass. Seems to work better for me that way. I also have them down about 3 or 4 inches from the top of the rim and aim them upward.
