:help: Need Idea on good powerhead for 65 gallon rectangle tank, I have a fluval 405 filter just tried a AquaClear Powerhead 70 and it burned up in 2 hours had it submerged near the bottom of the tank about 2/3 of the way down. Had great flow to bad it choked on me. Any suggetions would help.

2 hydor koralia 3's placed in the back corners of the tank pointing forward and slightly in. two-thirds of the way up the back wall.

I will third that above advie but also add a maxi jet 900 to place behind rockwork (if you have any) if not forget it.

I 5th. I had a powerhead. I replaced it with 2 Koralia 1's. They are only 400gph, but they work great. Although my fish used to really like the stream the powerhead put out.

It's 156 (187 US) gal. Another 1200 will be going in (from my current tank) and then I have 2 smaller powerheads for lower down the tank just to help keep the sand and the bottom of the rocks clear.

I'd recommend two of the 4's for a 90 gallon if they are your only powerheads. The flow is wide and dispersed, you can point it directly at a coral less than a foot away and it will not be a problem. If you have very fine sand you might have a problem positioning them so they don't move any of the sand, but after a bacteria layer is established on the sand bed this shouldn't be an issue.

I have three koralia 4's and a modified Tunze 6045 nanostream in my 80 gallon tank :). But then again, I also run BB :headbang2:
