i have a 90 gal tank and am looking for powerheads.

think four maxi-jet 1200 (295 GPH ) would be too much/not enough or just right ? and where do i put them ? in all four corners ?above or below the water line ?

thanks

You can't have too much circulation, unless I guess its harmful to your tankmates(spinning them lol), or is breaking glass haha. The oceans current is huge.

Although it won't be much, you may also want to consider the cost of running MaxiJet 1200's VS. MaxiJet 900's. The 1200's consume 20 watts to produce 295 gallons per hour while the 900's consume 8.5 watts to produce 230 gallons per hour. So, while the 1200's will give you a little more than 20% more flow than the 900's, they will use more than twice the energy to do so.

Around here it costs about $0.10 per kwh, if this were true by you... the maxijet1200's would cost $1.44 a month to use... the 900's would cost $0.61 a month, both being used constantly 24hrs a day for aprox 30days (a month)...:D

i didn't come to a conclusion, get the 900 its more efficient.

I just recently bought several 900s from Marinedepot....I also considered the amount of wattage each used...

the other thing would be heat also..i think the 900s will put out much less...
