Powerheads

I use two filters in my 55 gallons. Both filters provid plenty of circulation. There is little waste that accumulates on the bottom of the tank. If you only have one filter I would get a HOB filter for increased circulation otherwise I would not add a PH. If you have fish that like a lot of current you will find them swimming into the filter output anway. A PH will just consume more energy.

If you own fishes like the Pink Tail Chalceus that needs a lot of oxygen, then a powerhead or airstones with an air pump is necessary..How do I know? If you put a Pink Tail Chalceus in one of those plastic bags at the LFS with water to transport it home, the Chalecus would go belly up and die because lack of air...I seen it happen many times..In an aquarium they will benifit from the increase oxygen that powerheads make! And probably other fishes also need the extra oxygen..

Personally, I don't like Penguin PowerHead. Because whenever I stopped it, it wouldn't run. It took me sometimes to make it run again. I think Maxi-Jet is better.
