i was wanting to start a predator tank in my 46 gallon bowfront, so i did :D

so far the only fish yet is a leaf scorpionfish, taenianotus triacanthus. i was wanting a dwarf fuzzy lionfish, would this be compatable with the scorp?

if they are compatable, does anybody have suggestions of what other predators i could add along with them??

I love the look of those sea-plants. Most people just have rocks and corals. I think the plants look great.

The dwarf lion and scorpion should be fine together. How about one of the small species of puffer fish also?

hmm, hadent thought of that. ya, i didnt want just a wall of rocks, i wanted some sandy parts too. theres a ton of marine stores around here with tons of fish so any suggestions

Unfortunately there aren't many puffers you can put in a tank of that size and of the ones you can, most are fin biters!! And with a venemous fish with nice flashy, wavy fins, that might not be the best option;)

Ermm just a bit. The smallest one I've seen needs a minimum of 135gals and that's before it's even grown to adulthood.

It's the only problem with predator tanks, they require big ones!!!

Go on - you know you want to upgrade;)

i wanna upgrade everything, but i dont have the $. any other suggestions of what predators i could put with my leaf scorp and future DF lionfish...?

how about a hamlet?

you could try converting a brackish puffer if you want one.. they will stay pretty small
