Help me! I think I have a pregnant beta fish and I have no idea of what to do. First of all I don't have a filter in my tank so I have to clean it out every week or so, should I continue to do this? Becuase don't fish lay eggs? I want the new fish to survive. Once they are born should I seperate them right away or should I keep them all together? Please help me I have never had a pregnant fish before!

Don't worry. If you have a standard betta with long flowing fins then it is really a male and thus can't be pregnant. The females aren't generally sold and if they are they have tiny fins and are generally less colourful. Even if you have a female it will need to have a male to fertilize the eggs and care for the eggs. So if she did lay eggs they would be duds anyway.
With Bettas you really have to plan ahead to ge them to breed and it isn't always that easy to do. It pretty much won't happen without your help.
However, it could be that your fish is sick and that is why it is swelling up. If the bowl is small and has no filter (and I assume no heater) then you should be doing water changes every couple of days to make sure the quality is good for it. Also how much do you feed this fish and how long have you had it?

Can you describe by what you mean by pregnant at all? A female betta doesn't ever really look "pregnant" to the point that she is bloated.
If your fish looks fat and her scales are poking out, you may have dropsy (check this up using the search function of the forum).
