Pregnant Cleaner Shrimp

I have a pair of cleaner shrimps , they are great. Just a few weeks ago I noticed one of them was much fatter than the other one ,than upon closer inspection I noticed his abdomen was somewhat green. Today the green was gone and its filled with what looks to me a whole bunch of white little eggs. I know cleaner shrimps breed in captivity regularly, but I mean what are the chances of these surviving. Im sure 0, but its still cool. ANy experiences?

Chances that they will survive are near enough nil mate yes...Unless you can move to a another tank which will then give them some chance of survival, they will just be good nurishment for the tank inhabitants...

Our cleaner shrimp mate quite often, but the babies never survive. Everyone, and I mean everyone, dines on the babies once they're released -- even the cleaner shrimp themselves. I've thought about moving the egg carrying shrimp to another tank and trying to raise them, but haven't broken down to do it yet. It has sounded like a bit of a challenge (beyond that of finding room for another tank), as I've read that frequent plankton feedings are needed. Nonetheless, the babies are pretty cool looking when they first hatch.

with the proper care, they can be raised. they will survive in your tank, but most probalby wont reach maturity. if you post your email, ill send you a .pdf that i found online while searching fire shrimp breeding (another type of cleaner shrimp)

Hmmm so the baby shrimp mite actually hatch but than everyone will just eat them, that sucks!!! I figured they would eat the eggs, im curious to see all the baby shrimp. How long does it usually take for them to hatch? Fishiness thanks, I will send you a PM with my email.
