pregnant ghost shrimp?

She adjusts them with her rear swimmers that she uses to keep them close to her abdomen.

I have 2 females currently carrying and both started with small black/brown dots to now large lime-green spheres (~12+ each, it's hard to count). they have been carrying for 12-14 days now... :)

They are actually not inside but are held as a clutch by all back legs under the tail. You will see these legs rotating the eggs around so that all of the eggs are exposed to oxygen rich water as they develop.

I don't think that the eggs are "in" her I think from my reading about this that she is acctually holding them under her belly if you watch she will fan them with her swimmerets

"Female ghost shrimp with eggs are easy to identify. They carry small dark balls under their swimmerets. When she moves around, she often mixes them up by moving her swimmerets. This keeps them well provided with oxygen." http://www.fishpondinfo.com/shrimp2.htm

Angelianmickie,

That always happens to me when I don't check the next page for replies. I'm sure that is what happened to you too. You'll notice that ct-death said basically the same thing as us and ct posted at 823am, I posted at 1037am and you didn't get in till 355pm (based on my CST time zone).
