Preparing Driftwood

Ive got some driftwood that came from some land that used to be a lake bed. I need to know what i should do to it before i put it in the aquarium.

Make sure none of it is rotting or soft.. You should boil it to kill off any parasites, or fungus, etc... Some scrubbing with a brush would also help. Use no detergents on it.. HTH

I think its a peice of elm or oak, are these good?

if you dont like the tannins hydrogen peroxide will bleach them it will also kill any paracites beeing using it for years with no side affects waht so ever

soak it in a tub for a couple days too, so it will sink in your tank ;p
