Preparing for the big move! need help

So all he did was take the middle chamber of the Solana and add a little aluminum box to it to keep dry side dry? i don't think i am understanding this fully or this picture inst doing what he says justice
 
It is a black acrylic box with the top open so he can put the motor side of the vortech (the side that isn't supposed to get any water on it) in the back chamber of the tank. Without the box it would get salt spray and high humidity and would probably ruin the motor fairly quickly.

so the there's something covering all sides but the top? and the benefit to this is that its behind everything and more towards the center middle of the tank?

Benefit as you will find out when you get it, is the cord is not the most pleasant thing to deal with and having it on the side of the tank makes it not look as clean as putting it on the back.

That looks like just at RO unit, not DI as well, but that is a cheap and easy upgrade to do to it with Bulkreefsupply parts.
 
id be nervous having that so close to the water line.. id build a little wall at that exact spot just in case
 
Sand is soaking over night tonight.. gonna dry it for the heck of it tomorrow as well
Picking up PVC tomorrow.
Live Rock on Saturday.

The clowns are gonna be in the tank about a week after live rock is added if the params are all stable.. they need more space i can just tell
