pressurized aquariums

as Snapshooter asked, what if you had a normal aquarium in a pressurized room? Would that change things, or does it even matter?

what if you had a normal aquarium in a pressurized room?

All the same problems, just on a bigger scale. Would have to be constructed like Sealab (the real one, not the Adult Swim version!:) ) with airlocks and waiting chambers to allow low-pressure creatures like us to acclimate while going in and out. This is very hard on the human body even with technology to help.

The one advantage would be that once you got inside, the aquarium itself could be of normal, ie transparent, materials so you could see in it. A pressurized aquarium in a normal-pressure environment would not be hard to create, but would be about as much fun to watch as sitting around staring at a propane tank. Until Scotty gets here to give us the formula for transparent aluminum that is. :)

im pretty sure the easiest way to acomplish this is by putting the entire tank in a centrifuge dealie like they use to train pilots for handling like 8Gs or something crazy, then also make a platform for someone to stand on and admire the tank, also some kind of vehicle to catch up to the constantly in motion tank. this is clearly the easiest way. and good luck if there is a power outage

I really think that this is most definitely improbable but also well nigh impossible for the home aquariust. Though interesting thought and discussion.

I would really hate to be in the room if the tank fractured due to the pressure.

And I am sure that the regime of keeping the tank liveable for the residents would be impossible in a home setting. Though keeping a lampfish would rock.

lol

aw comeon, no one likes my idea?

Your idea will just crush the fish and take a lot more energy. The best idea is to build a city down there and see them in their environment.
