I have a red sea co2 reactor 500.
My 1 and only SAE went awal after a year or so.
All i have to battle the algae off are like 20 nerites, some cherries and amano shrimp. and my awesome presance to ward them off.

I don't think the red sea reactor is adding enough CO2 to my 100 gal tank.,....i can just crank it up but it'll just quickly bubble out of the reactor... whats good enough for my tank?

The reason why i don't think i'm getting enough CO2, is that I've started growing green hair algae. i've had it for a little while, and got rid of it for a year, but it came back like a month ago.

i tried to stop adding ferts, and continued to do my regular water changes. I stopped adding ferts for a while, and all my glosso are withering away, they're yellow and getting holes, so I had to add in ferts...I think the algae will start growing again.

I also had to toss out all my java moss...the algae liked to grow all over my moss. (i actually just tossed it in my 10 gal, it covered the whole floor, of what is to be now known as the 10 gal cherry shrimp factory)

what are some good ideas?? I was thinking to get another reactor...(2 reactors wtf?)

IS IT MY LIGHTS?!?!?

I have 1 in my 75 that seems to work ok

but you could also try a larger reactor ..or 2 of the 500's or DIY...;)

What's your CO2 level and how are you measuring it, what ferts are you dosing and how much. Cutting back on ferts in a plant tank is generally not very productive in a planted tank.

i just do dry ferts. i follow rex grigg's recommended doses. my calculations may be off, i'll post in a day or 2 when i get a chance to copy them down.

its a 100 gal. 4x65 power compacts...im going to be switching to AHsupply's reflectors soon, its being shipped to me right now...and maybe the ballast depending on which one is better....i have square pins...gotta drop like 80 bucks if i want to switch to straight.

yea i do need a drop checker, i just dont get how it works though, so i dont want to get it...you have that funny bulb thing, put in "A" and "B", flip it around in the water and it works?????? doesn't it like...diffuse into the aquarium or whatever? or a fish or snail or some curious critter goes in there?
