My friend has 2 Pretty tetras in her 20 gallon tank....along with 5 different kinds of goldfish....the tetras are getting white spots on them that looks something like little bubbles...and what also looks like "flakes" falling off of them.....do you have any ideas of what might cause these problems ?? :sad

well I think they are called white tetras maybe...the temp is around 68....but have always been in cool water....I guess her gold fish are started to get this white stuff on them too......i swear it looks just like bubbles and like their "skin" is peeling off....

maybe that is it ??? not sure...anyways...their skins are like growing stuff on them....and peeling off....looks like they are sick or something

well im not sure what that is have you seen them would you be able to identify them from a pic?

Ich, but this looks like the fish were dipped in salt. There are a number of viral possibilities...I'd suspect that a) the tank is overstocked and undermaintained, b) the tetras aren't healthy--68 is way too cold for tropical fish--and will be prone to every thing that comes their way.

 you shouldnt be keeping them in a goldfish tank :read:
