Someone in my local newspaper is selling this for 150$, they say its bran new never used, and works, with bulbs. Is it a good deal? Thank you

depends on how you define good deal. yes its a lot cheaper then a new on but its not that great of light.

Gamer, do you think the 4ft 2 x 54w bulbs, would be enough watts for 55g, im wanting to get a lot of plants in there. Also im sure your the one to ask on co2, I read on a DIY that you can put the tubbing straight into the hob filter? Is this effective like it said, or will i loose too much co2. Thanks again for you info.

depends on what you want really. its not the amount of plants its what kind of plants do you want. some plants need low light where others need med or high light to keep them. also diy is very hard in such a big tank you would need 4-6 2 liter bottles or more.

Hmm. Well i want to do a variety, but most of the plants i like require high light. About the Co2, i didn't think about that, and ya that doesn't sound fun. What do you think about something like this,

I like the fact it uses the co2 cartridges for paintball guns, those are easy to get, but do you know how many i would go through in a month?

over price and you will spend a lot refilling. you can get a reg for 80-90 bk has a good link and find a 5 pound co2 locally which should be around 50-60. you should be able to put together a co2 set up for 150-200.

Thanks for the info. Question though, who is BK? and do you know where i would start to look locally for co2? So all i would need would be the regulator, co2 and diffuser? I went into my LFS and asked if they had co2 drop checkers, and/or diffusers, and they looked at me like a deer in headlights, so i hope i can find it somewhere else other then the lfs. although there is more in the area, i havn't had good experience with them.
