I bought Prime yesterday because I read that its a better product then stress coat. My question is though how do you use it? I read the directions but it says one capful per 50 gallons on a new tank. How would you add it on a 65 gallon established tank after a water change? Maybe I missed something on the directions?

Well, you could use a measured medicine dropper, but I would just use a capful and a little squirt to boot...keep it simple. Even a 5x overdose will not be a problem.

if you are using a python to refill your tank, dose for the total tank volume (65 gallons) before you add the new water.

Thats what i do, our 80 gets 2 cap fulls, the 29 gets 1 cap, the 45 gets 1.5 caps, added to the water stream........:)

I think it mentions on the bottle that each thread in the cap is about 1ml (1ml treats 10 gallons)...So add a capful (5ml)then a alittle more to get over acouple threads in the cap and you should be good to go.

agree with everyone else. I have been using this product for several years now. By far the best I have tried. Mainly switched because one bottle can treat alot of water. With several tanks this is by far the better deal.

I wouldn't worry about doing an overdose. I'm sure my dosing isn't exact and I have yet to have any problems.

Dr. Foster & Smith sells syringes for the dog/cat medication dosing. You can pick some up. That's what i use to dose prime. It's easier to measure that way.
I picked this up at the drug store.....:)
