Prime overdose?

I got my bottle of prime in the mail today. Why did it take so long for someone to tell me about this awesome stuff? LOL JK. I didn't realize that it did so much until I read the bottle. Awesome! I have 2 3 gallons in addition to my 20. I add water one gallon at a time. Is it possible to overdose prime? The bottle says for when the tank is smaller then 50 to go up the the line in the cap. Is that still appliable when dosing it by gallon?

Not really. You can use up to 3x the amount for emergency ammonia fixing. I use Pond Prime and regularly overdose because the cap measures for 200 gallon treatment and I never get the reduced amount right.

Is there a difference between Pond Prime and regular Prime other than bottle/cap size?

If you buy the small bottle (50ml) it has a dropper cap so you can dose it by the gallon. It's 2 drops per gallon.

And yes, Prime is awesome stuff :)

heh I didn't know about the drops until i got the smaller bottle. Didn't know what to do when i ran out of other Tap Water Conditioners and only had the 16oz bottle. I did like prime and bought a small bottle.

Now i know and knowing is half the battle, YO JOE! lol
 
I store water for WC's in heavy duty 1 gal plastic bottles.
I pour the Prime from a 250 ml bottle into a smaller bottle that has a dropper in the nozzle. Then I use 8 drops per gallon of water and put the bottles in "storage" for the next WC.
A lot of folks on this forum recommend using a Python, but that scares me.
Treating an aquarium with Prime and then adding chlorinated water that is not temp matched scares me.

i use a childs medeicene syringe to measure my dosage it works great aprx 0.1ml per gallon
